Laura Bekar is an experienced aquatic and fisheries biologist with a diverse background spanning several roles in the field. Starting as a Fisheries Technician at Fisheries and Oceans Canada in 2005, Laura progressed to become a Fisheries Biologist at Rescan Environmental Services Ltd and then an Environmental Scientist at Azimuth Consulting Group Inc. Currently serving as a Senior Aquatic Biologist at GHD since June 2024, Laura previously held the position of Senior Fisheries Biologist at AECOM from 2022 to 2024. Laura holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor's degree in Cell Biology and Anatomy from the same institution, and a Master of Science in Zoology/Animal Biology from The University of British Columbia.
