Shane Byrne M.sc.

Shane Byrne M.Sc., R.P.Bio. is a Senior Aquatic Biologist with extensive experience in watershed management for fish and aquatic wildlife in the South Coast Region of BC, currently employed with BC Public Service since December 2021. Previous roles include Aquatic Biologist at Keystone Environmental, Biologist at BCIT River's Institute focusing on fish habitat restoration, and Commercial Fisherman and Smokehouse Supervisor at Sea Fresh Fish Ltd. Shane has also worked as a Research Assistant for Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, conducting environmental research. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Biology in Environmental Science from Simon Fraser University and a Master’s Degree in Ecological Restoration from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
