Isabel Leroux-Roels

Principal Investigator At Center For Vaccinology (cevac) at Ghent University

Isabel Leroux-Roels has had a diverse work experience in the field of microbiology and infectious diseases. Isabel began their career in 2003 as a Subinvestigator at the Center for Vaccinology (CEVAC) at UGent, where they worked until 2017. During this time, they also served as a Principal Investigator at CEVAC from October 2017 onwards. From 2009 to 2010, they gained further experience as a Microbiologist in training at UZ Brussel. In 2010, they worked as a Unit Infection Prevention specialist at Erasmus MC before joining UZ Gent in 2011 as a Clinical Microbiologist and Infection Control Physician.

Isabel Leroux-Roels obtained their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Ghent University in the years 1995 to 2002. Isabel then pursued a Diploma in Tropical Medicine from Prins Leopold Instituut voor Tropische Geneeskunde in 2002-2003. Later, they completed their PhD in H5N1 influenza vaccines at Ghent University from 2003 to 2011. Furthermore, they obtained a Master's degree in Infection Prevention and Control (Ziekenhuishygiëne) from Ghent University between 2009 and 2012. Lastly, they also achieved a degree in Clinical Pathology (Klinisch Bioloog) from Ghent University during 2007-2010.
