Jeff Mclean

Principal at ghSMART

Jeff Mclean is currently the Principal at ghSMART. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Asset Management at The Cordish Companies from January 2018 to December 2019. Jeff also worked as White House Fellow / Senior Policy Advisor at The White House - Office of American Innovation from August 2017 to August 2018.

From August 2015 to August 2017, Jeff served as Department Head at US Navy - Strike Fighter Squadron Eleven "The Red Rippers" (VFA-11). Jeff was also previously a Test Pilot at Navy Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Twenty Three "Salty Dogs" (VX-23) from December 2013 to September 2015. While there, they served as the X-47B Project Officer / Deputy Government Flight Test Director. In April 2015, they and their team completed the first autonomous aerial refueling of an unmanned aircraft - a historic moment in aviation.

Jeff Mclean received their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from The Wharton School with a concentration in finance. Jeff also holds a M.A. from the University of Oxford in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics. Their undergraduate degree is from the United States Naval Academy where they studied Political Science (Honors). Jeff also attended the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School where they studied Aerodynamics / Flight Test Engineering / Risk Management.
