Julie Vermoote

Julie Vermoote is a Principal at ghSMART, based in London. As a leadership consultant and trained clinical and organisational psychologist, she helps businesses hire and develop the leaders they need to succeed. Applying her background in behavioural sciences to clients’ commercial contexts, she advises senior executives in the areas of leadership assessment, development, and talent management.

Julie’s work has spanned the private, public and non-profit sectors, from market-leading FMCGs, engineering companies, media and high street retailers to specialist scale-ups. She takes a special interest in individual leader development, including coaching, onboarding, resilience training, and psychometric tools.

Prior to joining ghSMART, Julie was a Senior Consultant in the corporate and commercial practice at leadership consulting firm YSC where she worked with senior leaders across the talent agenda, particularly on the issues of executive assessment, succession, career transitions, and leadership potential.

Julie started her career in Belgium as a clinical psychologist specialising in personality and neurocognitive assessments, and therapy for addictions and depression. After moving to London, she took on a role developing omnichannel thought leadership campaigns for a large corporate in the City of London, partnering with international and sector-focused professional services teams.

Julie holds an MSc in Clinical Psychology from the University of Leuven (Belgium), where she graduated cum laude, as well as an MSc in Organisational Psychology from Birkbeck College (University of London) and a Practitioner Diploma of Executive Coaching. She is a certified administrator of a broad range of psychometric instruments. She has undertaken academic research in gender differences in executive leadership and identity formation within clinical personality disorders.
