Rockford Yapp

Rockford Yapp has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. In 1989, they worked as a Consultant for Health System International, where they investigated measurements of work and outcomes using a DRG based system for outpatient services. In 1990, they became a Medical Advisory Committee and Member for Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America. Rockford then served as an Attending Physician at an unspecified organization starting in 1991. In 1994, Yapp became the President and Founder of Digestive Health Services, a clinical practice that provides diagnosis and treatment for gastrointestinal and liver diseases, as well as performs clinical research. In 1997, they worked as a Consultant and Medical Advisor for a Medical Advisory Board. Yapp also founded the West Suburban Gut Club in 1998, which aims to improve the quality of care provided by Chicago area GI physicians through education and discussion. In the same year, they became a Board of Directors and Past Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee for the American Liver Foundation, Midwest Division. Additionally, they founded and directed the Hepatitis Support Group. In 2009, Yapp worked at Good Samaritan Hospital, where they served as the Vice Chair, Department of Medicine, and later became the Chairman of the Department of Medicine, representing physician interests and providing advice on improving patient care and outcomes. Starting in 2017, Yapp became involved in GI Partners of Illinois, LLC as a Co-Founder, Co-Director, and Executive Board of Directors. Rockford also joined Amerian Liver Foundation as a Member of the Board of Directors, promoting educational and advocacy programs to improve and cure liver disease.

Rockford Yapp has a strong education background in the field of healthcare and medicine. Rockford completed their Masters in Public Health from Yale School of Management from 1987 to 1991, focusing on Public Health, Health Care Management, and Clinical Research. During this time, they also pursued a fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine from 1987 to 1990, specializing in Clinical Outcomes and Research.

Prior to their time at Yale, Rockford Yapp completed a Residency in General Medicine at Northwestern University from 1984 to 1987, with a focus on Internal Medicine. Before that, they obtained their medical degree, M.D., from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, where they studied Medicine from 1980 to 1984.

Rockford Yapp has also obtained several certifications throughout their career. In June 1987, they obtained certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine. Additionally, in January 2013, they obtained certification in Gastroenterology from the same institution.

It is worth noting that there is a mention of a second Residency in Internal Medicine at Northwestern University; however, the exact dates and completion status for this program are not provided.
