Dennis J. Newman is an accomplished liturgical musician and composer with extensive experience in church music and education. Since June 2013, Dennis has served as a Substitute Liturgical Musician for parishes in the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Diocese of Joliet, after a lengthy career of over 40 years as a Director of Music and Liturgist. As a composer for GIA Publications since 2001, Dennis created the "Jesse Tree," an Advent cumulative hymn and paraliturgy. Additionally, Dennis has directed music for various organizations, including Music by LifeSong, where the role encompasses liturgical composition, performance, music arranging, and editing. Previous positions include Adult and Children's Choir Director at St. Mary Church and Director of Music at St. Fabian Church. Dennis holds a Master of Music in choral conducting from DePaul University, a background in philosophy from Quincy University, and theological studies from Catholic Theological Union.
