Cara Mercil

Cara Mercil has a strong background in sustainability and corporate social responsibility. Cara is currently the Director of Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility at Giant Eagle, Inc., where they lead the company's strategic sustainability initiatives program. In this role, they collaborate across all areas of the business to identify sustainability opportunities and drive measurable results. Prior to joining Giant Eagle, Inc., Cara held leadership positions at BNY Mellon, including Director of Corporate Social Responsibility and Associate Director. In these roles, they were responsible for developing and implementing corporate social responsibility programs and engaging with stakeholders to achieve meaningful goals. Cara has a proven track record of success in sustainability and governance management.

Cara Mercil holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History, Criticism, and Conservation from Sonoma State University. Cara has also obtained a certification in Nonprofit Board Management from Robert Morris University in 2018.
