Timo Derstappen

In 2003, Timo Derstappen co-founded erento GmbH, Europe's largest online rental marketplace. As back-end developer, they worked to replace the company's old monolithic PHP/MySQL application with a new microservice architecture using cutting edge technologies. In 2011, they joined Commerce Guys as a Drupal developer. At the heart of the Drupal Commerce editor's team, they took part in designing and realising various projects around e-commerce, including Commerce Kickstart (e-commerce distribution), Commerce So Colissimo (shipping module), and Commerce Priceminister (store management). Timo also took part in the development of customer’s project for Livre de poche (legacy French book editor). In 2018, they became co-founder and CTO at Giant Swarm.

-Timo Derstappen attended SUPINFO, a school for computer science and engineering, and Lycée Jacquard, a high school.

Timo Derstappen reports to Henning Lange, Co-Founder and CEO. Some individuals on their team include Alex Dabija - Kubernetes Platform Architect, Jakub Soboń - Platform Engineer, and Marcel Müller - Engineering Manager. They are on a team with Puja Abbassi - VP, Product, Oliver Thylmann - Co-Founder and CCO, and Heather Clancy - Content Writer.
