Kenneth M. Doran has served as the Chairman & Managing Partner of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP since 2002. Under Mr. Doran’s leadership, Gibson Dunn has expanded to more than 1250 lawyers in 20 offices located in the important financial markets of the world. Prior to becoming the Chairman & Managing Partner, Mr. Doran co-chaired the firm’s Corporate Practice and served on its Executive Committee since 1996. Mr. Doran has extensive experience in a broad range of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, private equity, leveraged buy-outs and "going private" transactions, cross-border transactions, corporate reorganizations and other restructurings. Mr. Doran regularly counsels clients and Boards regarding corporate governance issues, fiduciary duties and other compliance matters.

Mr. Doran has extensive experience in representing public and private companies in a wide array of industries, investment bankers and private equity groups, as well as individual investors and owners of closely held businesses. In addition, Mr. Doran has been retained as special counsel to numerous boards of directors and special committees formed to respond to sensitive merger and acquisition matters and to deal with various corporate governance issues.

Mr. Doran graduated with distinction with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Stanford University. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Southern California, where he served as Executive Articles Editor of the Southern California Law Review and was a member of the Order of the Coif.

Mr. Doran is the immediate past Chairman of the Board of Councilors of the USC Gould School of Law. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association since 2008, and is a past director of the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles.
