Maarten Smits

Maarten Smits is a seasoned financial executive with extensive experience in various leadership roles across prominent organizations. Currently serving as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Board Member at GIDARA Energy since April 2021, Smits has a strong background in financial management within the energy sector. Previous positions include Chief Financial Officer at Jobs & Media Group, Executive Board Member at Nature Group, and Head of Finance for Shell Pension Funds, overseeing significant assets and financial reporting functions. Smits' earlier roles with Royal Dutch Shell involved finance management in various capacities, including project control for LNG projects and finance operations for Shell Energy Europe.
