James Foster

James Foster is an experienced professional currently serving as Manager 1 for the City of Detroit since April 2015, where responsibilities include establishing the Development Resource Center, One Stop Permit Shop, Development Intake Center, and Electronic Plan Review. Previously, as Project Manager at Giffels-Webster Engineers from October 2012, James provided municipal engineering consultation, addressing right-of-way investigative issues and permitting processes. From January 2010 to October 2012, James worked as Development Coordinator at Great Lakes Geomatics LLC, acting as Right-of-way Agent for significant commercial and residential projects, and held a similar role at Great Lakes Geomatics from December 2006 to September 2012. James has pursued education at the University of Detroit and Wayne State University.
