Alexander Melville

Visual Design Lead at giffgaff

Alexander Melville has a diverse work experience in the field of design. Alexander started their career at NKD as a junior creative and quickly progressed to become a middleweight creative designer, where they worked on interactive Flash presentations and other design projects. Alexander later became the Creative Lead at NKD, where they took responsibility for the creative aspect of projects from concept to delivery.

Alexander then joined 999 Design, where they worked on projects for clients such as Bloomberg, Financial Times, and London School of Economics. During their time at 999 Design, they were awarded the Design Effectiveness Award for the effective use of data.

After that, Alexander worked at POSSIBLE, where they collaborated on various design jobs for brands like Vodafone, Lacoste, and Gillette. Alexander specialized in digital design and UI design.

Alexander then had roles at Valenstein & Fatt and Grey London as a Senior Digital Designer, where they worked on multiple global campaigns, including TV commercials, digital toolkits, and social videos. At Grey London, they also handled motion graphics and 3D design.

Alexander also had experience as a Creative Director at the clothing brand Zuki & Luna, where they aimed to operate a business for the betterment of the community by distributing profits to those in the supply chain who weren't receiving fair income and to charities. Unfortunately, the venture was not sustainable and ceased trading in 2020.

Currently, Alexander is working as a Visual Design Lead at giffgaff. Alexander also founded their own design agency, Design Planet, where they serve as the Founder and Creative Director.

Alexander Melville earned a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from Middlesex University from 2007 to 2010. Prior to that, they completed an Art & Design Foundation program at Epping Forest College in 2006-2007. Alexander also studied Graphic Design, Photography, and ICT for their A Levels at Epping Forest College from 2004 to 2006.
