Leah Akannam

Leah Akannam, MPA, possesses extensive experience in child welfare and social services, currently serving as a Referral Outreach and Case Manager for the Gift of Adoption Fund. Previously, Leah held various roles including Recruiter at One Hope United, where strategic sourcing for mental health positions was developed, and Child Protective Specialist for the State of Illinois, assessing child safety and coordinating interventions. Additional experience includes public relations coordination at Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House, life skills instruction, and case management in human services. Leah's educational background includes a Master of Public Administration and a Master's in Professional Counseling from Lindenwood University, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
