Michael Dougherty

Michael Dougherty is a Senior Scientist at Perlumi since December 2021, focusing on platform development for in situ resource utilization of carbon dioxide during long-duration space missions. Prior to this role, Michael served as a Senior Scientist at KBR, Inc. where work centered on synthetic biology and enzyme engineering for advanced life support systems. Additional experience includes roles as Scientist III at CSS-Dynamac, and postdoctoral appointments at Sandia National Laboratories and the Joint Bioenergy Institute, where Michael conducted significant biochemical analyses. Earlier, Michael earned a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.S. in Microbiology from Penn State University.
