Ujjvala Nangineni has a diverse work experience in the software engineering field. Ujjvala began their career at Samsung India Software Operations in 2000, where they worked as a Senior Software Engineer. Here, they gained experience in Mobile Switching Center and participated in the development of protocols such as BICC, ISUP, RANAP, and NAS Call Setup. Ujjvala also worked on MSC Relocation Scenarios. In 2003, Ujjvala joined Lucent Technologies as a Lead Engineer, where they focused on the development of SS7, RRC, NBAP, RLC, and MAC signaling protocols. During their time at Lucent, they worked on features like Handovers, HSDPA, and UMTS. In 2007, they joined Juniper Networks as a Software Engineer Sr Staff and played a key role in developing features for the Juniper Service Control Gateway on Mx960. Ujjvala led the development of high-performance, scalable multithreaded session management and control plane protocols, as well as the development of High Availability framework and HA for various protocols and features. Ujjvala also contributed to the development of session management, policy, and charging features for LTE PDN GW. Currently, they are working at Gigamon as a Principal Software Engineer.

Ujjvala Nangineni obtained a B-Tech degree in Electronics and Communications from the National Institute of Technology Warangal, where they studied from 1995 to 1999. Prior to that, they attended vps public school, but no information about degree or field of study was provided.
