Amaya Echevarria

Amaya Echevarria is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, currently serving as the Head of Global Value & Access for HIV at Gilead Sciences since June 2011. Echevarria has held various leadership roles, including General Manager for Switzerland and Austria, Business Unit Director for HIV and Hemato-Oncology, and Market Access Director. Additionally, Echevarria was appointed Vice President of the Pharmaceutical Industry Association of Researching Pharma Companies in Austria from November 2023 to September 2024. Previously, Echevarria worked at Sanofi from May 2005 to June 2011 in multiple positions related to market access and health economics, and at Schering AG from 2001 to 2005 as Head of Health Economics and R&D Clinical Advisor. Echevarria holds a Medical Doctor degree from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, a management program qualification from IESE Business School, and a degree in Health Economics from the Health National School.
