Yong Zhu

Yong Zhu currently serves as the Senior Director of Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Management at Gilead Sciences since 2024. Prior experience includes leading Business Development and Alliance Management in the North America West Region for WuXi Biologics from 2019 to 2024. At Genentech (2004-2019), Yong Zhu held roles such as Head of Alliance Management in China, overseeing collaborations and licensing opportunities, and worked as a Principal Clinical Development Procurement Manager, managing partnerships with Contract Research Organizations for clinical studies. Additionally, as Partnership and Product Transfer Lead, managed collaborations with Contract Manufacturing Organizations. Earlier career experience includes serving as Senior Portfolio Manager at Nastech Pharmaceutical and Research Scientist at Bristol-Myers Squibb, where drug discovery and development projects were managed. Yong Zhu holds a PhD in Biochemistry from The Graduate Center, City University of New York, an MBA from Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management, and a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology from Fudan University.
