Cheryl Nkeba

Upper School Music Teacher, Director Upper School Jazz Band, Director of Bell Choirs at Gilman School

Cheryl Nkeba serves as the Upper School Music Coordinator at Gilman School since 2006, where responsibilities include directing the Upper School Jazz Band, teaching Music History, and overseeing various school music programs. Previous roles include Education Director for Prince Georges Philharmonic, Executive Director at Mitchellville Community School of the Arts, and Instrumental Director at both Holton-Arms School and Notre Dame Preparatory School. Cheryl Nkeba's educational background includes advanced degrees in Music Teacher Education from West Virginia University and Norfolk State University, and a GPD in Bassoon Performance from The Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University. Currently, Cheryl Nkeba is pursuing a degree in Educational Leadership at Johns Hopkins University School of Education.
