Dr. Johannes Wagner

Dr. Johannes Wagner has a diverse background in data science and research. Dr. Johannes currently holds the position of Managing Director at Ginkgo Analytics. Prior to this, they worked as a Consultant at Hummingbird Bioscience. Dr. Johannes also served as an Entrepreneur in Residence at JAAI | JUST ADD AI GmbH. Dr. Wagner has extensive experience at Ginkgo Analytics, where they held roles as Lead Data Scientist and Senior Data Scientist. Dr. Johannes has also worked as a Research Scientist at the Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies and as a PhD student at the University of Heidelberg in Theoretical Physics. Additionally, they were a Visiting PhD Student at the PICB CAS-MPG Partner Institute for Computational Biology.

Dr. Johannes Wagner completed their education in a variety of fields, starting with a Diplom Physiker degree in Physics from Friedrich Schiller University Jena, which they obtained from 2001 to 2009. Dr. Johannes then pursued further study and research in Theoretical Physics at Heidelberg University, where they earned their Dr. rer. nat. degree from 2011 to 2016.

In addition to their physics background, Dr. Wagner also explored the field of Computational Biophysics. Dr. Johannes obtained a Doktor (Ph.D.) degree from the Chinese Academy of Sciences between 2010 and 2014, focusing on this interdisciplinary area of study.

Furthermore, Dr. Wagner briefly studied abroad at San Francisco State University in 2004 and 2005, where they pursued coursework in Physics but did not receive a specific degree.

Lastly, as an additional certification, Dr. Johannes Wagner completed the Cloud Architecture with GCP Specialization course offered by Coursera in January 2020.
