Makua Vin-Nnajiofor

Makua Vin-Nnajiofor is a qualified Process Engineer II specializing in fermentation at Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc. since July 2021. With a strong background in experimental design and data analysis, Makua has effectively optimized microbial cultures for product yield and strain productivity using DOE methods, while supporting the scale-up and technology transfer of upstream processes. Previous roles include Process Engineer I and Operations Engineer at the University of Kentucky, where research focused on upgrading agricultural waste, developing lithium-ion battery materials, and enhancing biorefinery efficiency. Makua gained initial experience as an Application Research Intern at Alltech and has held research and tutoring positions throughout academic studies at the University of Kentucky, culminating in a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Biological/Biosystems Engineering.
