Rahul Gauttam

Rahul Gauttam is a Senior Organism Engineer and Program Lead at Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc., since October 2021, following a tenure as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Berkeley Lab from January 2019 to October 2021. Prior to that, Rahul held the position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Ulm University, focusing on metabolic engineering of Corynebacterium glutamicum and E. coli. With a PhD in Biotechnology and Microbiology from Ulm University, Rahul has developed advanced microbial expression systems for glycosylated recombinant proteins. Rahul's experience also includes roles as a Lab Tutor and Student Mentor, Junior Research Associate at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, and engagements in various internships and volunteer activities in education and microbiology.
