Ted Moore

Ted Moore, PhD, currently serves as a Senior Organism Engineer 2, Program Lead 2, Program Director, and Organism Engineer at Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc. since June 2018. Prior to this role, Ted was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from September 2015 to June 2018, focusing on enzyme-substrate interactions involving the ClpXP protease. Ted's research interests include the mechanisms by which certain substrates undergo truncation and release. Earlier experience includes working as a Research Associate at The University of Georgia from January 2013 to July 2015, where Ted conducted structure-function analyses of ATP:corrinoid adenosyltransferases. Ted holds a PhD in Microbiology from The University of Georgia (2013-2015), alongside a BA in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from The College of Wooster (2005-2009) and additional studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2009-2013).
