Anjum Mahmood

Anjum Mahmood, PhD, has a strong background in stem cell research and cancer immunotherapy. From 2016, they have been working as the Director of Stem Cell Lab Operations at the Global Institute of Stem Cell Therapy & Research. In this role, they oversee the manufacturing of mesenchymal stem cells from adipose tissue and is responsible for quality control measures.

Prior to this, Dr. Mahmood worked as a Senior Scientist at North American Bio medical Research Pvt Ltd. (2012-2015), where they focused on developing cell-based therapies for cancer, specifically dendritic cell-based immunotherapeutics.

From 2011 to 2012, they worked as a Senior Research Scientist at APAC Biotech Pvt Ltd, where they specialized in cancer vaccines and the application of recombinant tumor antigens for generating immunogenicity through dendritic cells.

Anjum Mahmood, PhD obtained their M.Sc. in Biotechnology from H.P. University. Anjum Mahmood, then pursued their Ph.D. in Protein Biophysics / Molecular Biology from CDRI (CSIR) - JNU, completing it in 2011. Anjum also holds additional certifications in various fields such as project management, cell and gene therapy innovations, GMP qualification, CRISPR Cas9 gene editing in cancer immunotherapy, regulatory pathways in new drugs and biopharmaceuticals, communication, and regulatory affairs. Anjum Mahmood, is a member of the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS).
