Alex Hoang

Alex Hoang's work experience includes several roles in software engineering and development. Alex began their career at VMC Game Labs in 2009 as a Quality Assurance specialist. In 2010, they worked at Research In Motion as a Software Test Associate. In 2011, they joined Rove as a Software Automation QA. In 2012, they worked as an Information Systems Developer at the University of Waterloo and as an Application Developer at Sun Life Financial. In 2013, they became a Software Engineer at Careerify, which was later acquired by LinkedIn. Alex continued in the same role at Careerify in 2014. In 2015, they joined imoji as a Server Engineer, which was eventually acquired by GIPHY. At GIPHY, they held the position of Software Engineer in the Platform Services team from 2017 to 2019 and was promoted to the role of Senior Software Engineer in 2019.

Alex Hoang completed a Bachelor of Computer Science with Honours in Computer Science, Co-op from the University of Waterloo from 2009 to 2015. Prior to that, they attended Marianopolis College from 2007 to 2009 and earned a DEC in Commerce.
