Deborah Dugan

Deborah Dugan is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in leadership roles across various sectors, particularly in nonprofits and the entertainment industry. As of April 2022, Dugan serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Beyond Type 1, a nonprofit dedicated to improving lives affected by diabetes. Dugan's previous roles include Co Chair and Board Member of The Moth, Board Member at Girl Effect, Senior Strategist for Social Impact at Handshake, and President and CEO of The Recording Academy, where significant strides in diversity and inclusivity were made. As CEO of (RED) from 2011 to 2019, Dugan transformed the organization and increased contributions to the Global Fund. Additional roles include CEO positions at Entertainment Rights and oversaw major ventures at Disney Publishing Worldwide and EMI Records. Dugan holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law and a BA in Education from the University of Florida.
