Emily Hughes

Emily Hughes has a diverse range of work experience, primarily focused on volunteer management and support. Emily served as the Head of Volunteer Experience at Girlguiding, where they led teams to ensure volunteers had the necessary resources to deliver quality guidance to girls. Emily also stepped in as the Interim Director of Operations, overseeing the development of Girlguiding's programs for girls and ensuring their safety.

Prior to their time at Girlguiding, Emily worked as the Head of Volunteering at Parkinson's UK, where they led a central team to support staff in managing thousands of volunteers. Emily also managed the Research Support Network program, which aimed to involve individuals passionate about Parkinson's research.

Emily's work experience also includes a role as a Volunteer-Fundraising and Volunteering Advisor at VSO and as a Branches and Volunteers Manager at the National Autistic Society.

Emily Hughes completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA hons) in History from Durham University in the years 2002 to 2005. Emily further pursued their studies and obtained a Professional Diploma in Marketing from CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing in 2006 and 2007. Later, they attended Cass Business School from 2013 to 2015, where they earned a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Voluntary Sector Management. Additionally, in 2003 and 2004, Emily briefly studied at the University of California, Davis, although the degree name and field of study for this period are not provided.
