Dr. Michele Darby

Dr. Michele Darby serves as a K-12 Administrator at the New York State Education Department (NYSED) since February 2003 and is an active member of the New York ACT Council of the New York ACT State Organization starting October 2022. With a robust background in educational leadership, Dr. Darby has held roles as a Principal in Nassau and Suffolk County from February 2007 to June 2017, successfully leading schools to improve performance and well-being within predominantly Black and Brown student communities. As an independent business owner with Excellency Coaching and Consulting Services, LLC since October 2021, and a Board Member and Chair of the Programming Committee at Girls Inc. of Long Island since June 2022, Dr. Michele Darby combines practical experience with an extensive educational background, which includes a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Dowling College.
