Shataya D. Gilstrap has a diverse background in education and leadership roles, with a focus on empowering young women through mentorship programs and youth development initiatives. With experience in program management, curriculum design, and community engagement, Shataya D. has shown a commitment to promoting social-emotional learning, wellness, and empowerment among girls. Shataya has utilized evidence-based strategies and best practices to design workshops and lessons that foster self-esteem and resilience. Shataya D. is also the founder of The Philanthropist Foundation, LLC, where Shataya D. organizes events and summer camps to encourage scholarship and female empowerment.

Girls Leadership
Girls Leadership teaches girls how to exercise the power of their voice through programs grounded in social-emotional learning. We provide programs for girls, workshops for families, and professional development training for teachers, guidance counselors, and non-profit staff. We center gender and racial equity in our work to address the internal and external barriers to leadership development. Our work is structured around four central values: Authentic Communication, Courageous Growth, Equity, and Play. Girls includes anyone who identifies as a girl, as well as non-binary and gender expansive youth
