Julio Chávez

Julio Chávez is the current Manager of Programmatic Events at Girls Who Code. Prior to this, they worked as an English Second Language Tutor at Nao Now Tutoring from August 2021 to December 2021. Before that, they were an Assistant Producer, Education at The Moth from January 2019 to November 2021. In this role, they managed the production of the week-long Moth Teacher Institute, reviewed participant applications, delegated tasks to teammates, and assessed timeline for project deadlines. They also lead produced the Community and Education Program Showcases, scheduling event dates and rehearsals, hiring show crew, and executing day-of logistics. Julio streamlined the application process for Curriculum Partnership program, increasing retention of applicant to confirmed participant. They also cultivated relationships with colleges and universities for student workshops through our College Program. Lastly, they compiled a variety of data (contact information, video and audio files, signed documentation) for each teller and crew member into Airtable, Salesforce, and Basecamp.

Julio Chávez has a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Performance Studies from Stanford University.
