Sophia Sunwoo

Sophia Sunwoo is an accomplished marketing and communications professional with extensive experience in nonprofit and brand growth sectors. Currently serving as Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Girls Who Code, Sophia contributes to initiatives aimed at closing the gender gap in technology. Previously, as Head of Brand Growth at Special Sauce Branding, Sophia led the marketing vertical and drove client strategy execution. As the Founder and Brand and Marketing Executive at Ascent Strategy, Sophia supported women-led businesses in achieving significant sales milestones through focused marketing efforts. Additionally, Sophia co-founded Water Collective, a nonprofit addressing water system issues in Cameroon and India. Early career achievements include co-founding Bank Clothing, leading to significant brand engagement and successful acquisition. Sophia holds a Masters of Public Policy and Administration from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Parsons School of Design.
