Rebecca Somers

Rebecca Somers is an experienced professional in the field of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with a career spanning several decades. As the President of Somers-St. Claire GIS Management Consultants since January 1993, Rebecca has led initiatives to assist organizations in effectively utilizing GIS and spatial information. In addition to this role, Rebecca has served as Project Manager for Exam Development at the GIS Certification Institute since 2012. Previous positions include Columnist for GIS Management Strategies at Geospatial Solutions, GIS Director at PRC, Inc., GIS Manager for Fairfax County, GIS Project Manager at HDR, and Computer Mapping Coordinator for the City of Calgary. Rebecca holds an MA in GIS and a BA in Cartography from the University at Buffalo, as well as MBA and Graduate IT Management Studies from the University of Calgary and the University of Virginia, respectively.
