Michelle Ahern

Michelle Ahern is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in business analysis and customs operations. Currently serving as a Senior Business Analyst at Gisborne District Council since January 2016, Michelle previously held the role of Senior Customs Officer - Trade Assurance at New Zealand Customs Service from April 2006 to December 2015. In this position, responsibilities included assuring governmental trade integrity through auditing and maintaining database accuracy. As the Design Lead for the Operations Transformation Programme, Michelle contributed to modernizing the Customs Service, focusing on workforce sustainability, process improvement, and enhancing staff engagement. Michelle earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Maynooth University between 1993 and 1996.
