Jinmeng Rao

Jinmeng Rao is an AI Research Engineer at Google DeepMind, focusing on GenAI research since March 2024. As a co-founder of GISphere, a project aimed at assisting Chinese undergraduates in geography-related majors, Jinmeng has demonstrated a commitment to bridging the information gap. Previous roles include AI Research Scientist positions at Mineral.ai and X, the moonshot factory, as well as an AI Resident at both X and Google. Jinmeng's research background includes developing augmented reality prototypes and multimodal language models, along with experiences as a Geospatial Vision Intern at Sturfee and various positions during academic tenure at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Wuhan University. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Cartography and Geographic Information Systems and multiple degrees in computer science and geography-related fields.
