Anand Lopez is currently serving as a Mitacs Postdoctoral Fellow at GIT (Graphite Innovation & Technologies) since July 2023, focusing on the development of next-generation foul release and antifouling marine coatings, including conducting various tests and collaborations with suppliers and academic groups. Previously, Anand completed a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Waterloo, where extensive research led to over 10 first-author journal publications in DNA biosensor development and significant advancements in nanoparticle systems. Anand also holds a Master’s Degree and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Nanotechnology Engineering from the University of Waterloo, contributing substantial experience as a Graduate Researcher and Research Assistant throughout an academic career since 2012, which includes multiple projects on nanoparticles and advanced spectroscopy techniques.
