Alexis Karney

Alexis Karney is a highly experienced engineering manager currently serving as the Staff Engineering Manager for Infrastructure at GitHub since December 2018. In this role, Alexis leads the Physical Infrastructure and Compute Foundation teams responsible for the architecture, construction, and support of GitHub's global datacenter presence. Previous positions include Senior Engineering Manager and Infrastructure Engineer at Progressive Insurance, as well as IT System Engineer Lead at AmTrust Financial Services, where Alexis played a key role in redesigning the company's core network. Additional experience includes working as a Network Engineer II at Quadax, Inc., and a Risk Assistant and intern at Allstate, with a foundational degree in Computer and Information Systems Security from The University of Akron.
