David Cheney

David Cheney is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in backend infrastructure and technical leadership. Currently serving as the Lead for Copilot proxy at GitHub since March 2020, David has previously held significant roles at VMware and Heptio as Tech Lead for the Contour Kubernetes Ingress Controller. Prior to that, David contributed as a Principal Software Engineer at Atlassian and worked at Canonical, Optiver, and Redbubble in various engineering capacities. The career began at Aconex as a Senior System Engineer, following an initial role as a System Engineer at Space Time Research. David's educational background includes studies at La Trobe University.
