Marion Lang

Marion Lang currently serves as a Principal Software Engineer at GitHub since May 2024, after a role as a Software Engineer at Mozilla from June 2023 to May 2024. With a strong academic background, Marion was an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Rhodes College from August 2019 to June 2023, focusing on curricular revisions, DEI initiatives, and infrastructure improvements in computing. Prior experience includes a position as a Visiting Research Scientist at Google from June 2021 to August 2022, specializing in distributed stream processing systems, and a Software Engineer role at Google from November 2013 to August 2019, where Marion led efforts on Google Cloud Dataflow. Earlier academic experience includes serving as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Moravian College from August 2009 to December 2013. Marion holds a Ph.D. and an MS in Computer Science from The Ohio State University and a BS in Computer Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
