Manuel de Brito Fontes

Manuel de Brito Fontes has extensive work experience, beginning in 2001 as a Senior Network Administrator and Network Administrator at the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional. From 2004 to 2005, they worked as a Java Senior Developer at Indecs SA, followed by a role as Project Manager and J2EE Architect at Bluesoft Ingenieros Asociados from 2005 to 2009. In 2009, they were a Senior Consultant at the Ministerio de Educación de Chile. From 2011 to 2017, they were the Founder and CTO of SOFICOM SpA, which was acquired by Equifax Inc. in April 2017. Manuel then worked as a Consultant at Equifax Chile S.A. from 2017 to 2018 and as a Contractor at Kong Inc. from 2018 to 2019. Since 2021, they have been a Staff Engineer and Senior Software Engineer at Gitpod.

Manuel de Brito Fontes attended the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional from 1998 to 2004, but did not complete their degree. Manuel has also obtained a certification as a Speaker for KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2022 from The Linux Foundation in November 2022.
