Asha Curran has worked in a variety of roles since 1995. Asha began their career as a Publicist at Kodansha Ltd in 1995, followed by a role as Publicity Manager at New York University in 2000. In 2003, they became the Director of Lectures and Program Associate/ Associate Director of Lectures at the Bronfman Center for Jewish Life at 92nd Street Y. In 2011, they were appointed as the Director of Special Initiatives at the same organization. In 2012, they were promoted to Director of the Center for Innovation & Social Impact at 92nd Street Y. In 2016, they were promoted again to Chief Innovation Officer and Director of the Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact. In 2017, they were appointed as a Non-Resident Fellow at the Stanford Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society (Stanford PACS) and as the Chair of the Board of Directors at theguardian.org. In 2019, they became the CEO of #GivingTuesday. As of 2021, they are the Marla and Barry Beck Visiting Social Innovator at the Social Innovation and Change Initiative at Harvard Kennedy School.
Asha Curran obtained a BA in Politics from Mount Holyoke College between 1991 and 1995. In 2003, they were certified as a Parenting and Prenatal Educator from the Childbirth Education Association of Metropolitan New York.
