Francisco Maciel currently serves as the EU Climate Dialogues Country Correspondent for Brazil at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, focusing on the implementation of the Paris Agreement and related EU initiatives. Additionally, Francisco holds positions as Senior Advisor for a Forest & Climate Change VC Fund at KPTL, Partner and VP of ESG at Mezzegra Green Energy, and Chairman of the Low Emission Development Strategies Global Partnership (LEDS GP). Francisco has considerable leadership experience, previously serving as CEO of Cioeste SP and Bravo Ambiental, and as President and Founder of Iniciativa Verde. Francisco has also been involved with the Plataforma LEDS LAC and served on the Supervisory Board of Asociación Ivy, contributing to sustainable transition initiatives in Latin America. Educational credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Escola Politécnica da USP and a Master's degree in Renewable Energy and Climate Change from the University of São Paulo.
