Ruth Meyer is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the field of immigration and human rights. Currently serving as a Seniorrådgiver at Gjerdrum kommune since March 2019, Ruth previously held the position of Seniorrådgiver in the international unit at UDI Utlendingsdirektoratet from December 1999 to March 2019, where responsibilities included serving as a liaison between UDI and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, coordinating training for staff at foreign missions, and managing research and development projects. Prior to that, Ruth worked as a Rådgiver in the residence department, handling cases related to asylum, family immigration, visas, and studies. Ruth's career began at the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights, where, from August 1995 to December 1999, Ruth coordinated various programs, including the Nordem emergency response force and initiatives in South Africa and China. Ruth holds a Master's degree in Law with a specialization in international human rights from the University of Oslo.
