Ramon Yip has diverse work experience in the field of product design and engineering. Ramon is currently working at Glassboard as a Senior Product Design Engineer, where they have been since January 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Product Design Engineer at Glassboard from June 2021 to December 2022.
Before joining Glassboard, Ramon worked as a Design Engineer at Guala - Manos en Acción from February 2018 to June 2020. During their time there, they contributed to providing low-cost 3D printed hand prosthetics to individuals in need.
In 2018, Ramon also worked as a Process Engineer at Tegu, where they were involved in developing and prototyping concepts for the company's line of toys for babies and toddlers. Ramon made improvements to plant processes and collaborated with a team to overhaul and build a new system.
Ramon gained early experience as an Industrial Design Intern at TEAMS Design in 2016. In 2015, they worked as a Product Design & Engineering Intern at Sky worldwide export ltd, where they developed product concepts, collaborated with manufacturing engineers, and designed a tradeshow booth.
Their experience also includes internships at Catalyst Product Development Group, Inc., Objex Design, and Springboard Engineering Solutions, LLC. In these roles, Ramon supported product development teams, specializing in design and engineering of various parts.
Ramon also had teaching assistant experience at Notre Dame Design Deck, where they co-taught a rapid prototyping course, and they worked as a Rapid Prototyping Assistant at Notre Dame College of Engineering.
Ramon Yip obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Industrial and Product Design from the University of Notre Dame, where they studied from 2012 to 2014. In addition, from 2009 to 2014, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering at the same institution. Ramon has also earned certifications from Dassault Systèmes, including the Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional Advanced Surfacing (CSWPA-SU) in February 2021 and the Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) in February 2021.
