Alex Monteiro

Alex Monteiro is an experienced professional in process engineering and hazard evaluation, currently serving as the Process Engineering & US Process Hazard Evaluation Manager at GSK since January 2012. In this role, Alex leads a team of process engineers and hazard evaluation scientists focused on small molecule clinical manufacturing, with additional oversight of maintenance personnel. Prior positions at GSK included Process Engineering Manager and Senior Process Engineer, where responsibilities encompassed ensuring safe and compliant operations, minimizing downtime, and evaluating process stability. Prior to GSK, Alex worked as a Research Associate and Research Assistant at NJIT, and as a Pharmacy Technician at Rite-Aid Pharmacy. Alex holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
