Joel Owen

Joel Owen is an accomplished executive and academic specializing in pharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics. Currently, Joel Owen serves as the Executive Director and MIDD Lead at GSK since May 2024. Additionally, Joel Owen has been a Professor of Pharmaceutics at Union University since July 2008, having previously held the position of Associate Professor in the same field. Joel Owen was a Distinguished Scientist at Pumas-AI, Inc. from April 2022 to May 2024, and prior roles include Vice President of Pharmacometric Services, Chief Scientific Officer, and Vice President of Strategic Modeling and Simulation at Cognigen Corporation from 2017 to 2022, as well as Director of PK/PD at Cognigen Corporation from 2001 to 2008. Joel Owen began their career in the pharmaceutical industry as an Assistant Director at Mylan Pharmaceuticals from 1997 to 2001. Educationally, Joel Owen holds both a PhD and a BS in Pharmacy from Auburn University, obtained between 1987 and 1995.
