Luke Miels

Luke Miels is the current President of Global Pharmaceuticals at GSK. Prior to this, they were the Regional Head for Asia Pacific at Roche Pharmaceuticals from January 2009 to May 2014. Before that, they were the VP and Head of Metabolism & Anemia Global Marketing at Roche Pharmaceuticals in Switzerland from January 2006 to December 2009.

From 2004 to 2006, Luke held various positions at sanofi-aventis, including Integration officer North America during the Sanofi / Aventis merger, Vice President of Sales for Metabolism in NJ, and General Manager & Managing Director for Aventis Thailand. Luke also served as acting General Manager & Managing Director for Sanofi (Aventis) in 2002.

From 2000 to 2002, Luke was Head of Strategic Planning and Portfolio Management for Sanofi (Aventis). Luke began their career in 1995 with AstraZeneca, where they eventually became Executive Vice President in 2014. Luke left AstraZeneca in August 2017 to join GSK.

Luke Miels completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) at Flinders University before going on to complete a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Macquarie University. Luke is also a Fellowship (FAICD) holder from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Luke Miels reports to Emma Walmsley, CEO. They are on a team with Phil Thomson - President, Global Affairs, Sally Jackson - Senior Vice President, Global Communications and CEO Office, and David Redfern - Chief Strategy Officer.
