Ryo Sakai

Ryo Sakai is a highly experienced professional in UX/UI engineering and data visualization, currently serving as Director of UX/UI Engineering and Design at GSK since July 2019, while also holding the title of GSK Associate Fellow. Ryo leads data visualization design and research at the intersection of biomedical research, drug discovery, and AI/ML. Prior roles include Director of AIML Visualization Engineering and leadership positions in data science and visualization at GSK, Imperial College London, and PharmiWeb Solutions. Ryo has also been an external lecturer at Imperial College Business School, teaching data analytics and visualization. With a Ph.D. in Data Visualization from KU Leuven and a strong academic background in engineering and biomedical communications, Ryo has made significant contributions to the field through innovative design and training initiatives.
