Sander Timmer

Sander Timmer, PhD, currently serves as the Global Senior Director of AI/ML & Decision Sciences at GSK, leading an AI/ML engineering organization across multiple regions to develop innovative solutions for the medicine and vaccines business. Previously, Sander held roles such as Global Director of Analytics & AI for GSK Vaccines and Senior Industry Solutions Manager for AI & Health at Microsoft, where responsibilities included academic guidance and the design of advanced analytics solutions. Sander's academic background includes a PhD in Biological Sciences (Bioinformatics) from the University of Cambridge, along with relevant experience as a trainee with the 1000 Genomes Project and internships in bioinformatics and molecular diagnostics. Additionally, Sander is a life member of Clare Hall, Cambridge, and owns Rijschoolvergelijker V.o.F., the largest driving school comparison website in the Netherlands.
