Michelle started their career at SCE Federal Credit Union in July 2016 as the Chief Experience Officer. In this role, they were responsible for all aspects of sales and service for branches and the contact center, marketing, business development, community relations, and brand management.

In January 2013, Michelle became the Chief Marketing Officer at Georgia United Credit Union. As the Chief Marketing Officer, they were responsible for leading marketing, communications, business, and community development. During their time at Georgia United Credit Union, they boosted membership growth via marketing and education for prospective members. Michelle also provided training to support staff, collaborated with executive leaders to develop an overall strategic plan, conducted analytics and metrics, and conceptualized the product development strategy - including a redesign of products and services.

Under Michelle's leadership, the company saved $1 million in agency fees by creating an in-house marketing team and reallocating budget to new tactics. Michelle also helped the company save $2+ million in new building costs by utilizing strategic business and political connections to generate support for a first-of-its-kind in-school branch offering products and services while delivering educational and real-life experience to students. Michelle Shelton has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and Financial Management Services from Dalhousie University.
