Karl Robstad

Karl Robstad is an experienced medical professional with extensive expertise in pathology and laboratory medicine. As the owner of Robstad @ Home Diagnostics since August 2024, Robstad operates a private home laboratory for remote microscopic diagnosis of surgical pathology specimens. Additionally, Robstad serves as the Interim JS Ross Chair at Albany Medical College and has held the position of Associate Professor since March 2015, focusing on mentoring pathology residents through training and lectures. Robstad's roles at Albany Medical Center include Vice Chairman, overseeing the operations of multiple affiliated laboratories, and Interim Co-Chair of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. With prior positions as Laboratory Medical Director and Pathologist at various hospitals, including Columbia Memorial Health and Glens Falls Hospital, Robstad has a robust background in both clinical practice and laboratory management. Robstad earned an MD from Albany Medical College and holds a bachelor's degree from Siena College.
